深谷八坂神社の神輿洗い神事がおこなわれました。

場所は瀧宮神社。

神輿を清めるために行う儀式で、

京都の祇園祭りでは四条大橋の下を流れる鴨川の水をかけるそうです。

今回は天候のおかげで、神輿との取り合わせが珍しい、雪でのお清めとなりました。

担ぎ手の皆さん、足袋の中が冷たそうでした。

The mikoshi purification ceremony of Fukaya Yasaka Shrine was held.

The ritual took place at Takinomiya Shrine. It is a traditional ceremony performed to cleanse the mikoshi, the portable shrine that carries the deity during festivals.

At the famous Gion Festival in Kyoto, water from the Kamo River flowing beneath Shijo Bridge is poured over the mikoshi for purification.

At Takinomiya Shrine, this time, however, the weather brought a rare and beautiful scene. Instead of water, the mikoshi was purified with snow — an unusual and striking combination.
