11月26日に深谷文化会館で開かれた、わが母校深谷市立深谷小学校の開校１５０年記念式典。

過去のPTA会長のひとりとして、私も出席をしました。

発起人が、５０年前の１００周年の時に生徒会長だった（株）新吉の小内さん。

今回の記念行事は子供たちが楽しめるものにしようと、「１５０歳のバースデー・パーティー」の副題がつけられました。　

生徒のみなさんも、開会前からうれしそうに歓声をあげたりして、大盛り上がり。

司会進行は５，６年生の二人組が見事につとめたし、学年ごとの発表や演奏も、伸び伸びとやっていました。

タイムカプセルの中からは、当時の生徒たちによる作文、絵、習字、寄せ書きなどと一緒に、先生たちから贈られたウイスキーやブランデーも出てきたことが報告されました。

大人たちにとっても、心温まるひとときとなりました。

The 150^th anniversary of Fukaya Elementary School was held at the Fukaya Cultural Hall on 26^th November. I was invited as one of those past PTA chairs.

The chief promotor was noodle maker Shinyoshi President Onai, who was the leader of the student council 50 years ago. He named the event as “ 150^th Birthday Party “ as a part of his idea to let the students join in and have fun.

Even before the opening, the school children seemed excited letting out scream of delight here and there in the hall. The MCs were acted successfully by two boys in the sixth and fifth grade. Almost all the students of each grade got up on the stage to give well-prepared musical performance, dance, or presentation of their survey.     

From the time capsule appeared essays, drawings, and calligraphic works by students as well as bottles of whisky and brandy from teachers for those students who had grown up. They had a good time tasting them at the party held later.
